On Christmas Day in Glen Williams, St. Alban’s opened their church hall and kitchen to the best of the Christmas spirit.

Anyone who did not have a Christmas dinner to go to were welcomed as honoured guests to join the Glen Williams family for a winter’s feast. There was no cost, just a heap of turkey and the company of neighbours.

Carl’s Catering The Glen not only donated the turkey and stuffing and vegetables, owner Bino Dalli came along to help heat it up and serve! He joined a kitchen staff of dedicated and talented volunteers including Brady Davies, the 5-Diamond Chef de Cuisine and owner of The Cellar Steak and Seafood restaurant in Georgetown. Ares Family Restaurant provided salad, and Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Knox Presbyterian Church, and individuals in the community made donations to offset various costs.

A great crowd came out to enjoy dinner – and to serve. Once the guests all had their meals, the servers, kitchen crew and drivers settled in for much deserved a meal of their own.

After dinner a draw was held for Christmas presents, and no one left without one.

On behalf of the community of Glen Williams, we would like to express our appreciation to everyone who baked or cooked or shopped or set up or drove or served or greeted or cleaned up – in short, to everyone who helped in any way to make this day possible! You made what can be a lonely day for many a truly special Christmas to remember.
