On Tues. Jan. 24, 2017 at 6:30pm, Our elected representatives will be voting on the Eden Oak Application to construct a neighbourhood consisting of 31 homes in Glen Williams along the Rail Trail and have set aside this date to address the issue and make a final decision on their position on the matter before the Ontario Municipal Board hearing scheduled for February 27th to March 10th.
Town Council will receive a Staff Report, which will contain recommendations concerning the Eden Oak Creditview Heights application to build a 31 home subdivision on property beside the Rail Trail and overlooking Credit St. and the village below. The report will be posted on the Town website by the Friday preceding the scheduled meeting.
Glen Williams residents have previously voiced concerns about:
- stormwater management pond safety
- 1200 trees being removed
- the extensive cut and fill
- the erection of retaining walls
- the impact on wells and septics
- the lack of parkland
- the poor connectivity to the rest of the Glen
The Jan. 24, 2017 Council meeting is the only opportunity for residents to formally engage with them on this application. You need to be present and to make your views known.
To speak at Council you need to register by 4:00 p.m. on Fri. Jan. 20 by contacting the Clerks Division at 905-873-2601 ext. 2333 or ext. 2350.
It is important that we as a community participate in this meeting and represent the voice of the Hamlet in which we live. Those in a position to decide our future need to know that we care about the decisions they render.
