Since this is the month when we are meant to declare our love for those that matter most to us, it seems like the perfect time to express with no reservations…

I Glen Williams!

There are so many exciting things happening right here in our hamlet in 2017. One of the most significant is the communication network that has been created by a group of volunteers who believe as I do that the best way for us to stay connected and united as a community is to keep sharing our thoughts, news and stories with one another. As some of you may know, for the last three years I have written & distributed a Glen Williams Community E-Newsletter in hopes of letting folks know about the goings on in the Glen so that when occasions occur for us to share time together all are kept in the loop. The newsletter has expanded to be the basis for the reinvigoration of our Glen Williams Community Association (GWCA) which now has its own newsletter keeping us up to date on Association news. Our Association now boasts a thriving membership with a 14 member board and almost 30 Neighbourhood Representatives who all have a Heart For The Hamlet. How cool is that!

Government regulations regarding mass e-mails are becoming more stringent and so in order for both e-newsletters to continue being received by those who wish to get them, recipients must opt in and verify their desire to continue to do so.

We need you to show your Heart For The Hamlet. If you are receiving the Glen Williams Community E-Newsletter and/or the GWCA Newsletter please be sure to reply to the e-mails this month asking you to confirm your subscription. If you don’t, your name will unfortunately be removed from the list by the company providing the platform for these newsletters.

More exciting news this February is the launch of www.glenwilliams.org. This is your virtual Hamlet home where events, stories, photos, news… and much more will be able to be shared by all of us. This site is the brainchild of members of the GWCA and all things Glen Williams. Better still, if you are not receiving the Glen E-Newsletters all you have to do is visit the web-site and sign up to become part of the virtual Hamlet.

And just can’t end this love letter without heartfelt thanks to Neighbours in the Glen Magazine and their sponsors and advertisers. This publication and the families who have graced the covers have played a large part in making us know each other better and to feel connected. Thanks – and keep it coming!

Janet
